Nearshoring 2023 recap. In our last update, How is Nearshoring going? Ongoing evidence of a bittersweet progress, dated 7 December 2023, we identified a series of indicators that we thought would be useful to track in order to provide a more complete overview of this trend. In this report we note that despite the overall worsening conditions, certain indicators remain positive, particularly in the real estate sector, where other regions in addition to the northern states have gained momentum.
The evidence available suggests that while nearshoring can potentially benefit the Mexican economy significantly, various challenges must be addressed to fully realise this opportunity.
