Headline inflation in Brazil rose to 4.44% YoY in January from 4.26% in December (see our chart pack for more details). However, average core inflation fell to 4.44% YoY from 4.61%. Both headline and core are now within the BCB’s inflation target band of 3% +/- 1.5%.
