Alejandro Cuadrado is the Global Head of FX and LatAm Strategy for BBVA. Based in New York, he is responsible for the firm’s currency views and for enhancing the LatAm research platform, leveraging BBVA's local and global expertise and contributing with macro, fixed income and FX trade ideas. Mr. Cuadrado's team received the Starmine Award by Reuters/Refinitiv for the Best LatAm FX forecasters and has also ranked among the world’s top G10 and LaAtm forecasters in Bloomberg. Before joining BBVA, Mr. Cuadrado was the Chief Economist and Strategist for Latin America with Societe Generale and was ranked as the top forecaster for Mexico by Bloomberg Markets Magazine. Mr. Cuadrado also served as a Senior Economist and Fixed lncome strategist for Emerging Markets with Merrill Lynch/Bank of America and with the LatAm sovereign ratings group at Standard & Poor's. Mr. Cuadrado has a Bachelor's degree in economics from Carlos III University in Madrid and a Masters degree from Columbia University.
