Jorge Ordonez – To address increasing trading volume and credit breadth on the desk, Jorge shifted from his role as a lead trader of Latam corporate credit to guiding strategy and investments in corporates (and to a lesser extent sovereigns) for the desk and accounts. Prior to joining BBVA, George was the Senior PM for Invesco’s $2bn+ in EM hard currency assets a role he undertook in 2015. Prior to Invesco, George was the Managing Director and leader of sovereign and corporate EM research for seven years at Claren Road, the long/short credit vehicle for the Carlyle Group. George arrived at Claren Road from Morgan Stanley where he was the Desk Analyst for Latam Corporate Credit Trading (proprietary). Previous work includes investment banking work in structured credit and Latam corporate advisory. George has an MBA from Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School and a BA from Haverford College.
